Welding

Course Description

The Welding Technology program is a one-year program made up of lecture and laboratory instruction. Theory and techniques pertaining to shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, flux core arc welding, oxy fuel cutting, and plasma cutting, will be discussed and practiced. Welding inspection as well as destructive and non-destructive testing will be discussed and experienced where available.

This course also teaches proper use and understanding of welding symbols, print reading and comprehension, and general fabrication of metal components. Welding engineering principles are taught through practical mathematics, reading, and writing. Upon completion of this course students will have the knowledge, skill, and resources to acquire a job in the field of welding or to continue their welding education.
